Nigel Reaney

With 20 years of Lean Manufacturing experience across the globe, Nigel formed LMAC in 2005, based here in New Zealand. Since then, he has employed some of the most experienced and proven Lean experts from a broad range of specialised areas in order to provide a complete Lean solutions offering. After graduating as a Production Engineer, Nigel soon began to specialise in the field of FMS (Flexible Manufacturing Systems). It was this interest which took him to Japan and lead to him Joining Toyota Motor Manufacturing Ltd. During his 12 years within what is widely regarded as the world’s leading Lean Practitioner, Nigel was trained and mentored by some of the finest Lean thinkers in Japan. More recently, Nigel has supported several iconic New Zealand Manufacturers, such as Tait Radio Communications, to undergo total Lean transformations and helped them achieve world class productivity. In assembling such a formidable and results proven team of International Lean experts, Nigel’s aim is for LMAC to be the most trusted source of Lean expertise for New Zealand industry.

 

Philip Prime

Philip’s 14 years at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in the UK have given him an extremely wide range of experiences with the introduction, management and engineering of Lean principles and tools. This contrast in Lean environments supported his progression towards a key role within the Toyota European Manufacturing Quality Initiative, where the key objective was to develop and share Lean Manufacturing best practices across Toyota Plants. Philip is an extremely diverse Lean expert, with experience of Lean applications in areas ranging from a court of law to underground maintenance. As LMAC’s Senior Consultant, Philip has proved the benefits of Lean in many areas of both manufacturing and the service industry, and most recently has supported a major Lean initiative with Christchurch based City Care Ltd.

 

Dave Armin

Dave’s 15 years at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in the UK have given him an extremely wide range of experiences with the introduction, management and engineering of Lean principles and tools. This knowledge of Lean is strongly supported by Dave’s Engineering background as he started as a time served electrician moving to Toyota in 1993 as a Maintenance electrician. Dave held a senior management position at Toyota and has built up a vast and practical level of experience. With time spent in Japan working and being mentored in the true Toyota Lean practices, Dave has demonstrated his ability to implement & sustain change. Over the last 16 months he has been coaching and implementing Lean within New Zealand in sectors ranging from Healthcare, Manufacturing, Office and working with Executive teams to engrain the tools.

 

Alastair Crawford

A highly experienced and driven Lean Manufacturing expert with a proven record of success in senior management roles and a reputation for driving improvement in performance, efficiency, health and safety, quality and profitability in production environments.A strong leader, adept at developing people and processes to ensure the achievement of best practice through effective management techniques and training expertise. Alastair’s Lean qualifications have been gained through the Toyota Motor Motor Manufacturing organisation, both in the UK and Japan.

 

Adrian Tighe

Adrian is an experienced developer of People and has been teaching Lean techniques for nearly 20 years. Initially trained in Japan by leading Sensei at Toyota, Adrian spent 17 years with the company coaching hundreds of employees to understand Lean philosophies and techniques. Regularly working at all levels of the Toyota organisation, from the shop floor to senior management, Adrian has been able to pass on the benefit of his training in Japan, USA, Belgium, the UK and recently in New Zealand. A key success factor in the transition from the classroom to the production environment is his practical involvement in the implementation of changes on the shop floor which are necessary to compliment the delivered coaching & training. This focuses on the Toyota principles to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement. In addition to being a recognised expert in Lean techniques he is also an experienced Management Development professional, implementing the “Toyota Way” management tools and techniques to Toyota employees around the globe. These ways of thinking and behaving are a key component to managing any organisation and making the Lean implementation successful, sustainable and continuously improving.

Prior to joining Toyota, Adrian was part of the ABB takeover of British Rail Engineering where he was involved with the implementation and management of organisational change. This included changes in old working practices and attitudes in order to meet the demands of modern competitive manufacture. Adrian started his career as an engineer with NSK bearings and also has experience of the chemical & food industries as well as manufacturing.

 

Stephen Cheadle

Stephen's career started at Toyota where he developed his grounding in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supplier Management. Following his time at Toyota Stephen became a professional management consultant (IBC Certified) and has since consulted for large branded and none branded organisations globally. During Stephen's consulting career he has worked at numerous facilities worldwide ranging from government run organisations and service sectors to FMCG, food manufacturing, print industry, electronics and engineering businesses. Stephen works from board level to shop floor to ensure sustainable and embedded end to end change. Having worked across multiple sectors alongside his Toyota background Stephen prides himself in being able to work with businesses to develop effective solutions that are bespoke and fit for purpose.

 

Gordon Hollis

Productivity Improvement Consultant

With over 20 years experience Gordon has delivered IT services across a variety of industry sectors which has included local government, the travel sector, media and Telecommunications. Latterly, before joining LMAC Consulting, Gordon had been working for a number of years for Fujitsu Services, a global supplier of IT services to many top companies including Toyota in Japan. Whilst heading up the Service Delivery for the UK’s second largest airline he was responsible for delivering continuous service improvement coupled with year on year cost savings through business process improvements and operating efficiencies. One of the key methodologies responsible for achieving these demanding targets was the utilisation of Fujitsu’s own application of LEAN principles in the IT environment. This saw the successful application of LEAN principles deployed across various IT delivery units including the Service Desk, Desktop, (voice & data) Networks and Server Support capabilities

 

Karen Russell

Karen has over 10 years Strategic & Operational International consulting experience in Supply chain and Commercial sectors. Industries include Engineering, Manufacturing, Health, Retail, Construction, Tertiary Education, Local Authorities and Service Organisations. She is an experienced Operational Manager with a comprehensive and strategic understanding of HRM, business and technical issues and organisational change. Karen has the ability to devise and implement coherent business strategies whilst improving internal processes and procedures within a demanding environment, project deadlines and budgets. Innovative in thought, Karen is visionary and is able to take concepts through to implementation. She has been the NZ lead for large global change and outsourcing projects, the most recent with Cadbury in New Zealand and Australia.
