LEAN Experience

LMAC Version of 'The LEAN Temple'

The LMAC version of the LEAN Temple

The LEAN Temple is a simple model that embodies the core principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS): Standardised Work Methods, JIT and Agility, Jidoka and Control, Kaizen.

Many believe that Toyota's successes with the application of Lean Manufacturing are gained through their focus upon the core principles of LEAN more so than the individual tools that support them. This is also our view from experience. For example, we have encountered many environments where the introduction of Kan Bans have been the sole focus, but with little attainment of JIT and therefore little gain to the business. Our approach is to first of all establish what the business need is, and then use our extensive experience in Lean application to tactically support our clients make sustainable gains.
